What is Stock Photography/Videography?

Stock images can be presented in searchable online databases. They can be purchased and delivered online. 

The photographs or video of you may be used in just about any potential media or context, including in magazines, textbooks, TV shows, movies, billboards, web sites, and social media.  But there are limits - all media banks prohibit any use that is defamatory or pornographic.

"Commercial use is when content is used in a context to help sell a product, raise money or to promote something. 

Content that does not require model or property releases, can be licensed for editorial use only. This is content used for non-commercial, non-promotional use only. "A release is a written permission from an individual or property owner allowing the use of that person's likeness or property (for example, a private home, a place of business, a copyrighted work of art, or in some cases, an animal) in an image for commercial purposes.
